Timothy Locke
Abt 1700 - Abt 1797 (~ 97 years)- F25 Timothy, b. 1700 (?), m. Miriam Brooke, in 1722.
F25 Timothy Locke, b. in Hampton, 1700 (?), m. Miriam Brooke of South Kingston, R. I., about 1722. He with his brothers Joseph, Abijah, and probably John, went to Rhode Island about 1720 from Hampton. His grandson Samuel, b. 1790 says the above is true. In 1751 Timothy bought land at Point Judith Ponds, Kingston, R. I., and sold land in 1757. The General Assembly, Oct. 1776, made him First Lieut., of the 1st Battalion to be raised by the State. Oct. 12, 1776, he was recommended by Washington for the "New Establishment." May 1778, the General Assembly made Captain Timothy Lock one of the officers to command the State Militia. They reappointed him captain in July 1780, and he received pay for services in 1780. He died in So. Kingston, 1797 (?).
