  • Capt. JONAS LOCKE, m. DWIGHT, of Brookfield. He was a soldier in the war of the Revolution, and served in the army several campaigns. He resided at Shutesbury, at a place formerly called Locke's Mills, but now Locke's Village, and removed to Deerfield between 1780 and 1790. He was a millwright, and " built several mills in Deerfield and its vicinity." He and his wf. both d. Feb. 1811, leaving considerable property. " He was highly respected by bis townsmen."
