Jonathan Locke, b. Dec. 22, 1705, m. in Martha's Vineyard, Jan. 1, 1729-30, Mary or Sarah Norton, dau. of Samuel, of Chilmark, Mass. He was in Newport, R. I., 1728, perhaps also in Attleboro, Mass. Tradition says his wife had a posthumus child only, who was brought up by his grandfather Norton. Tradition says Jonathan was killed by falling down a bank in Rye. -- Locke Genealogy 1916
