  • Phebe, bap. at Weston, "Aug. 4, 1734, a. 14 days;" m. John Jones, 105 Oct. 24, 1754.PHEBE BREWER, m. Capt. JOHN JONES, of Concord, Oct, 24, 1754, who was b. Dec. 7, 1730 ; the son of Thomas, who m, Mary Miles, July 20, 1757 ; gr. son of Samuel, who m. Ruth Brown, Nov. 10, 1698 ; the gr. gr. son of Samuel, who m. Elizabeth Potter, Jany. 16, 1672, and the gr. gr. gr. son of John, who came from England about 1648, went from Cambridge to Concord about 1650, and d. 1673. His wid. Dorcas m. William Buss, and d. 1709. Capt. Jones resided at Concord as late as Dec. 1762. He removed to Ashby, then Townsend, and purchased a farm in the northwesterly part of the town. His house was near the present residence of Amos Wellington, Esq. At the organization of the town in 1767, he was chosen one of the Board of Selectmen and Town Treasurer ; was a Selectman 1768, '73 and '78, and Treasurer 1768 to '71. He was often appointed on Committees, and was one of the original members of the First Church, Capt. of the Militia, and Constable in 1771. In all town affairs he Was one of the leading and influential men. He d. Dec. 18, 1811, a. 81. (fit) She was sister of Isaac Whitmore, who md. Kebecca Foster, [657.] y
