Joseph Locke
1699 -- JOSEPH LOCKE, Jr. m. SARAH — , who d. May 28, 1777, and he d. Jany. 13, 1785, a. 86. He resided m Lex. on his father's homestead, in the West half of the house. His father in 1736, had sold him a part of the homestead, as was related in par. 3 ; and in 1742 half of 32J- acres in Wob. His house stood where the house of William Locke now stands, his brother Stephen owning one half of it. In 1776, June 11, he sold to his son Amos, for the nominal sum of 12, his part of the house, and portions of several pieces of land in Lex. and Wob. and Amos, then called of Wob. on the same day, gave his father and mother a lease of the same premises for and during their natural lives ; and also engaged to provide them " with good nursing in their sickness and at all times and under the infirmities of their advanced age, even until their death." I have been unable to ascertain the family name of his wf.
