Patience Locke

Patience Locke

Female 1711 - 1755  (44 years)

  • F50 Patience Locke, b. in Rye, 1711, m. Nov. 16, 1749, Noah Moulton, b. in Hampton, Feb. 23, 1705, son of Daniel and Mary; he lived in Rye, served under Captain Francis Locke at the Fort, 1746, and about 1770 removed to Lyman, at a place now known as Moulton's hill. She was received into the Greenland Church in 1719, and a Rye record says Patience Locke (not Moulton) d. May 11, 1755. Credit has been given to Patience Locke for the sterling qualities inherited by many of her descendants among this large and influential family. Noah had a nephew b. 1726, sometimes given as husband of Patience, but I think it is the older one.
