  • MARY LOCKE. m. SAMUEL KENDALL of Wob. Mh. 30, 1692; who was b. Mh. 8, 1659, the son of Francis Kendall, an emigrant from England who md. Mary Tidd. [Samuel Kendall md. 1. Rebecca Mixer of Watertown, Nov. 23, 1683, who d. Oct. 25, 1691.

    By her he had Samuel, July 13, 1684 j Isaac, Sept. 13, 1686; Joshua, March 14, 1689, and Rebecca June 6, 1691.] He resided in Wob. where the house of Horace Conn stands on Pleasant St. He probably died at Lancaster about 1749, at which time his will was proved at Worcester, and he is called, " of Lancaster formerly of Woburn." His father's mg. is recorded on the Wob. Records Francis Kendall, alias Miles, and the tradition is that he emigrated without the knowledge of his family, and to avoid discovery altered his name. I do not understand which was said to be his true name, Kendall or Miles, but suppose the former. He had a brother Thomas, who resided at Wob. who had 10 daus. but no sons.
