  • DAVID LOCKE, m. BETSY KIBBE, of Concord, Jany. 1, 1770, the dau. of Samuel Kibbe. He resided in the northerly part of Ashby, on the old road leading from Townsend to New Ipswich, N. H. where he d. Aug. 19, 1800, a. 60. His wid. who was b. July 18, 1746, d. Oct. 27, 1827, a. 81. He was a soldier in the old French war, at Crown Point and Ticonderoga. In the war of the Revolution he was a volunteer who went to the assistance of Gen. Gates, in Sep. 1777, and was present at the surrender of Burgoyne. He was an influential man in the church, of which he was a most exemplary member.
