  • WILLIAM LOCKE, m. REBECCA BARRETT, of Carlisle, Feb. 21, 1773, (the sister of Jonathan Barrett, of Ashby.) He resided with his father at Ashby until about the time of his marriage. He purchased a farm at Fitzwilliam, N. H. Oct. 22, 1770, to which he removed soon after his marriage, and resided in Fitz" the remainder of his life, excepting a few years he lived with his son Jonathan at Swanzey, N. H. He was a modest and unassuming man, just in his dealings, and a lover of peace. Dea. William Ward, of Southboro', who md. his mother's sister, bequeathed him his gun, a silverheaded cane and some books. The cane is now in the possession of his gr. son William D. Locke. He d. Mh. 30, 1829, a. 81, and his wid. who was b. Dec. 26, 1774, d. Dec. 15, 1831, a. 87.
