F206 Deacon David Locke, born in Rye Aug. 24, 1735, married 1st, Anna Lovering of Kensington, Feb. 9, 1758. She was dau. of John, and born March 11, 1739, O. S., died in Rye, Sept. 23, 1807. He married 2nd, March 24, 1809, Widow Olive (Marden) Elkins, who was born Jan. 6, 1747, died Dec. 4, 1835. He hired soldiers in Rye 1781, for the Revolution, was selectman in Rye 1777-9, again 1783, and 1784; also moderator in 1785. He lived in Rye and Locke's Hill, Epsom, and died in Rye, June 3, 1810, leaving 13 children all married. Of 90 grandchildren, 77 were living, of 10 great-grandchildren, 8 were living. This family of 13 children were all singers, save one, and their voices when singing at home were often heard at the Centre Church one mile away.
