F181 Moses Locke, born in Kensington July 8, 1733, married in Kensington, March 12, 1755, Mary Organ of York, Me. Widow Mary paid taxes in Epsom 1804-10. He moved from Kensington to Epsom about 1768 and was taxed there as late as 1797. He served seven years in the Revolution, had been given up for dead, hence, when he returned his family did not recognize him. He enlisted in Capl. Dearborn's Co., Col. Stark's Reg. on May 9, 1775, and traveled 102 miles, but did not like this Company so enlisted 1776 for 6 years in the 1st N. H. Reg. Enlisted in Col. McClary's Reg. 1777 for 3 years. He was at Bunker Hill. A record saj^s, "Moses of Kens, cordwainer, bought 50 acres of land in Epsom 1769."
