    Notes:

    Deacon Nathan Richardson lived in Woburn all his days ; was a highly respectable and useful man, and often employed on public business. He was selectman 1759, 1760, 1761, 1762, 1763; was chosen deacon April 22, 1761 ; was one of the committee, chosen 1738, to have care ofthe town's "loan money," that is, money received from the sale of two thousand acres of land in Lunenburg, granted to the town of Woburn by the General Court in 1644,* but not located till 1717.

    Nathan married Tabitha Kendall 3 Jul 1729. Tabitha (daughter of Samuel Kendall and Mary Locke) was born 22 Jan 1706-7. [Group Sheet]

    TABITHA KENDALL, m. Dea. NATHAN RICHARDSON, July 3, 1729 ; the son of John and Deborah, of Wob. She was his 2d wife, and d. Nov. 25, 1739, a. 33. [By his 1. wf., named Esther, he had Nathan, Ap. 21, 1725 ; and Esther, Aug. 1727.]

    Deacon Nathan Richardson lived in Woburn all his days ; was a highly respectable and useful man, and often employed on public business.     MARY LOCKE. m. SAMUEL KENDALL of Wob. Mh. 30, 1692; who was b. Mh. 8, 1659, the son of Francis Kendall, an emigrant from England who md. Mary Tidd. [Samuel Kendall md. 1. Rebecca Mixer of Watertown, Nov. 23, 1683, who d. Oct. 25, 1691.

    By her he had Samuel, July 13, 1684 j Isaac, Sept. 13, 1686; Joshua, March 14, 1689, and Rebecca June 6, 1691.] He resided in Wob. where the house of Horace Conn stands on Pleasant St. He probably died at Lancaster about 1749, at which time his will was proved at Worcester, and he is called, " of Lancaster formerly of Woburn." His father's mg. is recorded on the Wob. Records Francis Kendall, alias Miles, and the tradition is that he emigrated without the knowledge of his family, and to avoid discovery altered his name. I do not understand which was said to be his true name, Kendall or Miles, but suppose the former. He had a brother Thomas, who resided at Wob. who had 10 daus. but no sons. (See Barry's Hist, of Framingham, p. 307.) Chil. by Mary Locke.

    William LockeDeacon WILLIAM LOCKE was b. at Stepney Parish, London, England, Dec. 13, 1628; m. MARY CLARKE in Woburn, Dec. 27, 1655, the dau. of William and Margery Clarke of Woburn. She was b. at Watertown, 10, 10, 1640, (Dec. 20, 1640) and d. at Woburn, July 18, 1715, a. 74 yrs. 7 mos. ; Dea. Locke d. at Woburn, June 16, 1720, a. 91 yrs. 6 mos. Their children all b. at Woburn.

    William Locke came to New England in 1634 on the ship The Planter when he was only 6 years old. He was probably raised by an Uncle in or near present-day Woburn, Mass. His circumstances in the new world are unknown, but he was able to purchase land in Woburn in 1650.
