A myheritage.com entry says that the Theodore Lyman Locke who died in 1851 at age 22 was born in 1829 to Hammond and Rebecca (Nevers) Locke.  The Theodore Lyman Locke who was a descendant of Capt. John was born in 1825, so would have been older than 22 at the time of the NEHGS publication, which was apparently close to the time of the accident.  Interesting that two men of about the same time period should have been given the same fairly unusual name.  The both lived in or near Boston, where a prominent family which included three generations of Theodore Lymans also lived.  Theodore Lyman II was an aide to the governor of Massachusetts, brigadier general of the militia, and state legislator at about the time when the two Locke boys were born.  Perhaps they were named for him.
