Guyon Locke Smith, b. Lockeport, Nova Scotia, 1898, followed his ancestors in shipping. But instead of being a merchant or mariner, he was a shipboard radio operator, and served on numerous ships running between New York and the Caribbean. He was the radio operator on the Ancon 10 years after this photo. He died in 1930, just 32 years old.
