In November we posted a mystery -- is John W Locke of the eponymous landmark "John W Locke Store" in 1890's Seabrook, NH, related to Capt. John Locke?  Maybe a case where one of the Woburn Lockes went to New Hampshire?

It turns out he was in the 1916 genealogy (and here on the site), simply listed as "a grocer in Hampton." Census records reveal an even more complex story; it appears that John W "retired" (at age 28??), leaving his brother and son to run the store.  As typical, one question answered and the mystery actually deepens.
